Auto Expo 2020: MG Motor India To Showcase 14 New Cars

MG Motor India has announced its plans to showcase its latest technologies and advancements in internet, electric and autonomous cars at the upcoming 2020 Auto Expo.  The MG’s product range on display will focus on internet, electric and autonomous cars – encompassing a range of 14 cars across hatchback, sedans and utility vehicle segments. This is the first time that MG Motor will be marking its presence at the Delhi Auto Expo.Speaking on the occasion, Rajeev Chaba, President and Managing Director, MG Motor India, said, “MG Motor India is committed to accelerating the adoption of eco-friendly, next-generation mobility solutions over the long term in India. All MG products at the Expo operate at the intersection of our core focus on innovation, customer experience and sustainability-led development.”MG Motor will be showcasing the Vision-i concept MPV (multi-purpose vehicle). The teaser image released by the company shows striking similarities to the Roewe Vision-I concept showcased by its parent company SAIC at the Shanghai Motor Show in April 2019.  Built for the 5G era, the Roewe Vision-i concept car combines the high passability SUV with the large space MPV, creating a new SPV category. SPV defined by Roewe: Smart Proactive Vehicle, means intelligent and active interactive car.[gallery size="full" ids="14510,14511,14512"]Other than the Vision-i concept, the company will also display the 6-seat Hector called Hector Plus. Also confirmed for Auto Expo 2020 is the MG-badged Maxus D90, which is set to arrive in India this year. The six-seat Hector Plus will feature a slightly revised exterior and an updated interior. On the inside, it will feature a third row of seats and captain chairs in the second row. Similarly, the Maxus D90 is a full-size SUV that measures 5,005 mm in length, is 1,932 mm wide, 1,875 mm tall and has a 2,950 mm long wheelbase. The three-row SUV will get SAIC's in-house 2.0-litre diesel engine and will rival the Toyota Fortuner and Ford Endeavour, etc.[gallery size="full" ids="14513,14514"]Currently, MG Motor is gearing up for the launch of its first electric vehicle for the Indian market, the MG ZS EV. The ZS EV will be MG's second model in the Indian market after the Hector.
